Summer can be a tough time for soccer fans. European club soccer seasons have finished up, leaving fans feeling devoid of club soccer games to watch. If you're like me, you can never get enough soccer! So, in addition to the Women's World Cup, here are some soccer leagues you can watch throughout the summer to avoid FOMO:

1. NWSL

The premier women’s soccer league is an amazing league to watch for fans of women’s soccer. This league is home to plenty of household names, such as Alex Morgan, as well as new stars like Sophia Smith. Although this league will be on break during the FIFA Women’s World Cup, it is a perfect match for fans of the United States Women’s National Soccer Team! The remainder of the 2022-23 NWSL season is available to stream on Paramount+.

3. USL Championship

While this league is often regarded as subpar to the MLS, that does not mean that there aren't quality players and clubs in it. Take for example LouCity’s Joshua Wynder, who is the first USL academy graduate to reach a global stage by playing in the FIFA’s Men’s U-20 World Cup. He’s not the only one, with 28 USL players being called up to youth national teams in 2022. If you are a fan of young, talented players getting the opportunity to show off their skills, this is the league for you! The league can be watched on ESPN+.

4. Liga Profesional Argentina

Home to one of the biggest rivalries in soccer in Boca Juniors vs. River Plate, this league is one of the highest-quality leagues in South America. Besides the rivalry, there have been plenty of feisty games in this league, such as the Argentina Champions Trophy final between Racing Club and Boca Juniors. Although not an Liga Profesional game, this game had 10 red cards dished out in it after a brawl. So, if you like tense games with lots of action, Liga Profesional Argentina is the league for you! This league can be watched on Paramount+ (English broadcast) or Fanatiz (Spanish broadcast).

5. Brasileirão Série A (Brasil Série A)

With stars such as Neymar, Ronaldinho, Pelé, Vinicius Junior and many others gracing the Brasil Série A at one point in their careers, it is clear that there is a lot of talent and flair present in the league. If you’re looking for tricks and flicks, this is the league for you! This league can be watched on Paramount+, Fanatiz, or ViX (Please note: Fanatiz’s and ViX’s coverage is in Spanish).

6. Canadian Premier League

While this league may not have the history of some of the other leagues on this list, this is still a great league to watch, especially for people who want to be a part of a league growing in popularity. Witness clubs challenge reigning champions Forge FC to see who will be the 2023 Canadian Premier League Champion. This league can be watched on Fubo TV.
