Yesterday evening Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of the most talented and dominant players in soccer's history, lived the umpteenth unforgettable night of his long and prosperous career., which, at 40 years old, doesn't seem close to an end.
His free-kick goal (that reached a speed of 62 mph, just to give an idea of his strength) allowed A.C. Milan to beat A.S. Roma at Olimpico Stadium, in Rome, and maintain the edge of the championship, together with A.C. Napoli.
The score also marked Ibrahimovic's 150th goal in Serie A. "You always have to try. Failure is part of success," he commented, as, throughout his career, he didn't get his audience used to free-kick goals.
The magic atmosphere of his night was partially ruined by some racist chants directed toward him, especially after the goal. Ibra replied to the chants by sending ironic kisses to the crowd.
"The more they provoke me, the more I feel alive" he commented, at the end of the match.
Another demonstration of his competitive and straightforward attitude.
Surely one of the factors that brought him to the high levels he is surprisingly capable of maintaining still today.
