Manchester United have confirmed that French midfielder Paul Pogba won’t be part of the team’s next season squad.

The 29-year-old will now enter the free-agent market. At the moment, Juventus is reported to be the closest team to seal a deal with Pogba’s entourage.

The midfielder has already expressed his will to be back in the Serie a, where he already played between 2012 and 2016.

After growing up in Manchester United’s youth academy, Pogba joined Juventus as a free agent.

Initially considered to be the hair of Andrea Pirlo, Pogba emerged as a mid-wing with an explosive mix of technique and physical power.

Together with Arturo Vidal and Pirlo himself, he composed one of the most successful midfield trios in the Bianconeri’s history. During season 2014-15, the team got to play the Champions League final against Barcelona, although the Blaugrana eventually raised the trophy.

With his national team, Pogba won the 2018 edition of the World Cup. He played all the tournament matches and scored one of France’s four goals in the final against Croatia.

Today, at 29 years old, Pogba is at a crossroads. Either remain where he is or make the ultimate qualitative leap and become one of the most dominant midfielders worldwide.

Juventus, the place where it all began, might be the right place to start.
