Manchester United Sale

Manchester United have been on the brink of a sale of ownership for what has felt like years, with multiple suitors actively providing bids to take full and partial ownership of the team.

The biggest of the suitors was Sheikh Jassim, who presented United and the Glazers, who own United currently, with a full cash bid. This full cash bid clears all old debt with zero new debt for full 100% ownership of the club. The investment package was worth more than eight billion dollars.

This would've been a new day for Manchester United, as there has been a sense that new ownership will get them back to their winning ways, making smarter player and personnel deals, and over infrastructure of the club.

However, Sheikh Jassim has pulled out of any deal for acquiring the Red Devils, as stubbornness from the Glazer family has stalled any sort of full ownership acquisition.

Though the full ownership has not taken place, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, of INEOS, has made great strides in acquiring a 25% ownership stake in Manchester United. The final decision for this portion of the team will be announced soon, as Ratcliffe will take control of football/sporting operations once the vote goes through.

Many feel as if a full sale of the team was essential, including some of United’s biggest club legends. David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand, and Gary Neville have all been vocal about how full ownership from a new group would propel United back to where they once were.

With growing concerns on the pitch about United and their performances, this is just the icing on the cake. United have serious concerns and hopefully Sir Jim Ratcliffe can help change the narrative.
