Arsenal won 4-2 over the weekend thanks to two extra-time goals. New signing Jorginho made a major contribution to the game-winner as he shot a rocket from outside the box that hit the crossbar and came off former Arsenal goalie Emi Martinez and bounced in. Gabriel Martinelli finished the game off from an Aston Villa corner which Martinez came up for and gave the Brazilian an open net.

The Gooners fell behind early twice but were able to stay in the game due to the work of two beautiful strikes from Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko. It was also the faceoff of former Arsenal manager Unai Emery who was bested by his younger countryman Mikel Arteta.

With that game in hand, Arsenal now has a two-point lead over Manchester City, a crucial win for the title race after dropping points in the past three games. Manchester City dropped points this weekend to give Arsenal some breathing room. Arsenal faces Leicester City next Saturday at 10 AM EST.
