Is the La Liga title race still on?

After Barcelona’s away 4-0 victory against Real Madrid some people might be wondering if there is still a chance for Barça or Sevilla (or even Atletico) to strip Madrid off the title, so here’s what you need to know.

Barcelona and Atletico had won their last 5 games and are 12 points away (Barcelona has a game in hand), while Sevilla has tied their last four. Real right now are still sitting in the top of the table however, they might not be so relaxed at top after all. If Barcelona win their game in hand they will be 9 points away from Madrid, same as Sevilla. There are still 9 games left in the season and some of these teams still have to play each other and all those results can decide the Spanish champions title.

First of all, Barça will visit Sevilla on match-day 30 , and whoever wins this game will be the direct competitor with Real Madrid for the title. Then on match-day 32 Sevilla will host Real Madrid and try to beat them in order to get closer to them in the table. 2 games after that, for match-day 35, Real will visit Atletico for the Madrid derby, another game that could move the top four spots of the table. Last but not least, on match-day 37 Atletico will host Sevilla, and this is the last game between the top four spots of the season.

The previously mentioned games will have a direct effect o the top four spots of the table, however this is soccer and anything can happen in these last 9 games of the season. Hopefully this season keeps exciting and dramatic until the last game.
