Is it finally the Year of the Gunners?

A tale almost as old as time is the battle for the English Premier League trophy. However, the trophy has been given to the blue side of Machester four out of the last five seasons, with Liverpool stealing one. The trophy has not been won by a club from London since Chelsea during the 2016-17 season. The trophyless waiting time has been much longer for the Gunners of Arsenal as they have not lifted the trophy since they went unbeaten in the 2003-04 Premier League Season.

Flash forward to 2023, and the Gunners are absolutely flying this season, as they are on top of the table with a five-point lead with a game in hand of second-place Manchester City. The difference is the consistent play from all over the squad, as players like Saka, Martinelli, Jesus, and Odegaard have more than a handful of goals and assist each. They also bolstered the squad by signing tricky Belgium attacker Leandro Trossard from Brighton, who has already bagged seven goals and two assists in the Premier League this season.

They take on the struggling Everton tomorrow away from home. Despite playing away, Arsenal is still a heavy favorite over the Toffees, who currently sit in the relegation zone. Is this finally the year of the Gunners?
