FC Barcelona destroy UNAM PUMAS IN THE JOAN GAMPER TROPHY FINAL

FC Barcelona had wrapped up their 2022/23 preseason campaign with a dominant 6-0 win against UNAM Pumas in the Joan Gamper trophy final. The Spanish club played the Mexican side at Camp Nou as part of their traditional preseason test ahead of the new La Liga season. Xavi continues to impress everyone with the incredible summer form of the team. With this victory, the club marks its fourth win from an unbeaten run of six games.

The hosts dominated from started with Robert Lewandowski scoring his debut goal after just three minutes. The Polish striker then assisted Pedri’s goal after which Dembele smashed another one into the net. Lewandowski also assisted Pedri’s second goal of the game. Barcelona showed absolutely no sign of slowing down after half-time as Aubamayang came in as a substitute.

Prior to the game, Barcelona also paid tribute to legendary right back, Dani Alves. The defender left the club in June as his contract expired which brought an end to his second spell with Barcelona. The Brazilian could not contain his emotions as he was brought to tears before hugging his old teammates and president of the club, Joan Laporta. He received a framed shirt, as a token of appreciation, with the number 431 which represents the number of games he played for the club.
