Romelu Lukaku's interview that aired on Sky Sport Italia this week, in which the striker opened up about his discontent at Chelsea, in particular his complicated relationship with coach Thomas Tuchel, brought to the exclusion of the striker from the squad that will face Liverpool in today's match.

This summer, Lukaku left Inter to sign a new, pharaonic contract with Chelsea. The encouraging season beginning (three goals in the first three matches) made everybody think that, despite the considerable expense, the Blues made a deal.

However, the situation backslid after an ankle sprain and the positivity to Covid-19, that kept him away from the field for more than a month. As a result, Lukaku lost his spot in the starting XI and has been struggling ever since to play and score with a certain continuity.

"I'm not happy with the situation but it's my job and I mustn't give up," Lukaku declared, and the two goals scored in the last two matches display his perseverance and will to give everything for his team.

"I think the boss has decided to play a different formation but I have to stick at it and get on with it professionally," he added.

However, during the press conference that preceded the match against Liverpool, Tuchel didn't use any euphemism to express his point of view when asked to comment on the striker's words.

"To speak out these things as a big player, a big signing and a key player for us, who behaves on a daily basis like he is absolutely happy, is a concern and a big deal for us," Tuchel said.

"We have to speak to him and he has to speak to us."

According to NBC, on Monday, there will be a summit between Lukaku and the society to clarify the situation once and for all.
