The Flyers: In Their Boucher Era

It was first reported on September 14th that Brian Boucher would be leaving ESPN to take over Keith Jones’ spot as the Flyers main TV analyst. This is a most exciting, but crucial time for Flyers as they are preaching their “New Era of Orange.” Brian Boucher was 120-139-45 in his playing career over 328 games. He also played for the Phantoms. His record was 66-33-31 with 120 games played.

Boucher’s record for the Flyers was 73-68-19 with 174 games played. This doesn’t look that impressive, but his save percentage average was 0.091. This still isn’t that impressive, but you know what they say, “Those who can’t do, can teach.” Just like with anyone who comes to Philadelphia, Boucher says “I love everything about Philadelphia.” The thing that he most enjoyed about Philadelphia was the passion from the fans, whether if it was in his favor or not. With Keith Jones as the new President of Hockey Operations, who knows, maybe one day Boucher will make his way to be Keith Jones’ assistant. Boucher was always a crowd favorite. I remember going to games with my parents and getting excited to chant “BOUCHE,” as loud as I possibly could. I am excited to see what he will bring from an analytic standpoint for the Flyers and it looks like a lot of others are too.
