Things Are Starting To Look Good For The Capitals

On Monday night, November 7th, 2022, the Washington Capitals faced the Edmonton Oilers at the Capital One Area. The Capitals beat the Oilers 5-4.
After being on a four game-losing streak, this past week. The capitals finally turned that around during tonight's game against the Oilers.
The beginning of the first period wasn’t looking so good for the Capitals, but with about two minutes left on the clock, Dyland Strome scored the Capitals’ first goal of the night.
Things got even better for the Caps during the second period. A power-play goal was made 26 seconds into the second period. The goal was scored by Strome and assisted by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Erik Gustafsson. The Oilers made their first goal 8:33 into the period, by the hands of Connor McDavid, assisted by Leon Draisitil and Tyson Barrie. But the Capitals also made another power-play goal, scored by Kuznetsov 12:25 into the third period, which was assisted by Strome and Gustafsson. At 14:10 on the clock, the Oilers made their second goal of the night, it was scored by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and assisted by Zach Hyman. With about five minutes left on the clock, Alex Ovechkin scored the 788th goal of his career.
In the third, the Oilers scored the first goal with 2:54 on the clock, which was scored by Leon Draisaitl and assisted by Hyman and Evander Kane. The Capitals were hoping to avoid another loss with another power-play goal. With 18:09 on the clock, Ovechkin skated toward the net, then passed the puck between his legs to Kuznetsov, which brought the Capitals 5-3. With less than two minutes on the clock, the Oilers’ Nugent-Hopkins made their final goal of the night which Darnell Nurse and McDavid assisted. Through this, the Capitals prevailed and won with a final score of 5-4.
