Preds Forsberg Injured, Tomasino Recalled
The Predators leading goal scorer, Filip Forsberg, was checked hard into the boards during Saturdays game against the Flyers and is considered day-to-day with an upper body injury.
The All-Time leader in goals scored for the franchise is currently on pace for another 30-goal season, coming into the game sitting on 19 goals on the season. The Preds rely heavily on his offense and his chemistry with line mate Matt Duchene for a bulk of the teams goal scoring.
In his absence, the Preds announced that forward Philip Tomasino has been recalled from their AHL affiliate in Milwaukee. Tomasino spent his rookie season in Nashville last year tallying 11 goals and 21 assists across 76 games for the club. In his 38 games with Milwaukee this season he has totaled 12 goals and 20 assists, which puts him third on the team with 32 points.
The 21-year-old Tomasino will be playing alongside Mikael Granlund and Ryan Johansen as the Predators take on the Arizona Coyotes to kick off a three game homestand.
