Pittsburgh Penguins Triumph Over the Winnipeg Jets

The Pittsburgh Penguins had a great 3-0 win against the Winnipeg Jets last night. Bryan Rust, Jeff Carter and Kris Letang all scored in the game. Also, Tristan Jarry improved to a 5-0 record against Winnipeg, getting his second of his 19 career shutouts.

Rust said, “We were on our heels a bit and (Winnipeg) pressed.” “They’re a good team, but (Jarry) was there and made some really big saves for us.”

The Jets are on a 4 game losing streak and their coach, Rick Bowness, said, “The similarity in the four games is our inability to score.” “We’re not getting outplayed. We’re just not scoring right now.”

Pittsburgh’s coach, Mike Sullivan, earned his 430th win in his 800th NHL game. Also, Jake Guentzel had an assist in his 500th game he played for the Penguins. The Penguins have won two consecutive games after losing three straight. Pittsburgh has points in 16 of its last 21 games.

Tristan Jarry had an exceptional performance last night but ultimately said “Obviously, we’re not in the position we want to be,” Jarry said. “We want to be in a playoff position. We’re not happy with where we are and we need points.”

The teams will play again this Saturday in Winnipeg. We will see what the outcome is then and see if Jarry can get another shut out to add to his record.
