Every Player - 10 Minute Penalty
On Monday night in the Ottawa Senators game versus the Florida Panthers, the referee gave out a 10-minute misconduct to every player on the ice. The Senators winger Brady Tkachuk went on a one-on-one attempt with the goalie but missed the net. Shortly after, this led to Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov to collide with Tkachuk. Then, all of the players got involved and everyone was fighting anyone and everyone. There were many fights throughout the game leading to the referee giving a 10-minute misconduct to every player on the ice.
Overall, the referee had enough of all of the fighting and ended the third period with the benches for both teams less than half full. In the game overall there were 167 minutes of penalties handed out between both teams. This is nowhere near the record from 2004 of 419 penalty minutes when the Philadelphia Flyers faced the Ottawa Senators. 16 players were ejected from that game, but never more than seven at once.
