Ducks vs. Avalanche Game Series Score Ends 1-2

Game 1: On Nov. 15, the Anaheim Ducks had a record of 9-6-0 before heading to Ball Arena in Colorado to go up against the Colorado Avalanche who had a record of 9-5-0.

The Avalanche would dominate as the score at the end of the game would be 8-2. 

Two out of eight Avalanche goals took place in the first period, one earned by defenseman Samuel Girard and the other by wing Valeri Nichushkin. 

The Anaheim Ducks would get their first goal of the game during the first period, courtesy of center Sam Carrick.

The second period would go rather quietly up until 14:33 minutes in, as Avalanche center Fredrik Olofsson would score a goal making the score 3-1 in favor of the Avalanche.

The third period would be the point in the game in which the Avalanche would secure their win as they scored five goals, while the Ducks only scored one goal, ending the score with 8-2 in favor of the Avalanche.

Colorado Avalanche ended the night with a record of 10-5-0 and the Anaheim Ducks ended with a record of 9-7-0.


Game 2: On Dec. 2, the Colorado Avalanche (15-6-1) would head on over to Honda Center in Anaheim to go up against the Ducks (9-14-0) for the second time this season.

This time around the Ducks seemed to be more hungry, especially after the brutal loss against the Avalanche on Nov. 15.

The Avalanche scored a goal within the first 30 seconds of the first period, courtesy of defenseman Bowen Byram.

Bowen Byram appeared to love scoring against the Ducks as he would go on to score another goal 8:59 minutes into the first period.

While on a power play, center Adam Henrique would finally put the Ducks on the scoreboard as he scored their first goal of the night.

Defenseman Devon Toews would go on to score yet another goal for the Avalanche making the score 3-1, with only 42 seconds left in the first period.

The second period would be all about the Anaheim Ducks as they would score two goals, one by center Leo Carlsson and the second by wing Alex Killorn, thus making the score a tie, 3-3.

The third period would go scoreless as would overtime, leading to a shootout.

Leo Carlsson scored, ensuring the Ducks win 4-3.

The Anaheim Ducks would end the night with a record of 10-14-0 and the Colorado Avalanche would end the night with a record of 15-6-2.


Game 3: On Dec. 5, the Anaheim Ducks (10-14-0) would go to Ball Arena in Colorado to go up against the Colorado Avalanche (15-7-2), in their last game against one another.

This game would be fairly interesting as both teams would be missing players due to recent injuries. For the Anaheim Ducks, a new addition to the injured players would be center Mason McTavish. Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche would be without wing Valeri Nichushkin, defenseman Cale Makar, and center Andrew Cogliano.

The only goal scored in the first period would happen 1:40 minutes into it by Avalanche’s defenseman Kurtis MacDermid.

Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon would score a goal with around three minutes left in the second period, making the score 2-0 in favor of the Colorado Avalanche.

The third period would consist of one more point for the Avalanche, scored by wing Logan O'Connor.

The Ducks would finally get some points on the board as center Sam Carrick would score a goal shorthanded 10:43 minutes into the third period.

The second goal for the Ducks would be scored by center Leo Carlsson 14:11 minutes into the third period.

The score would stay the same as neither team would score a goal with around four minutes left in the third period; leading the Avalanche to win 3-2 against the Ducks.

The Colorado Avalanche ended the night with a record of 16-7-2, while the Anaheim Ducks ended with a record of 10-15-0.

The game series against the Colorado Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks would end with the Avalanche 2-1 Ducks.
