The winning goal was made by Ryan Strome, who scored on a pass from Trevor Zegers with forty-nine seconds left in overtime.

During the first period of the game, Mason McTavish scored a power-play goal for the Ducks, assisted by Adam Henrique and Cam Fowler, which tied them up with the Red Wings for a while before the second period when the Red Wings scored their second goal with 35 seconds left on the clock.
