MONCTON- The CHL/NHL Prospect game was played on Wednesday at the Avenir Centre in Moncton, New Brunswick. The U.S and Canada’s brightest stars faced in front of many NHL scouts, all hoping to improve their draft stock and catch the eye of NHL teams. Team Red came away with the victory over Team White with a score of 3-1. The game this year featured a “European invasion” of sorts, as six players were born outside of North America. Many hockey fans are unaware of these prospects, but here are some players to watch from the CHL/NHL Prospect game.

Raoul Boilard

Boilard came into the prospect game ranked number 34 on the NHL Scouting’s Midterm Rankings, and showed out in the Prospect game. Boilard recorded a point on each of the Red Team’s goals (two goals and one assist), and was granted player of the game honors for Team Red. "It feels good for sure," Boilard said. "I think I did well on offense, and also did well in the defensive zone. I won some face-offs (4-for-7), so I think that's what you can expect from me.". Boilard currently plays for the Baie-Comeau of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League but will surely be a sought after commodity in this upcoming NHL Draft.   

Tij Iginla

This name may seem familiar, that is because Tij is the son of Hockey Hall Of Fame Forward Jerome Iginla. Tij ranks number eleven out of all prospects. Tij didn’t fill up the stat sheet like Boilard, but he contributed with 2 shots on goal. His contributions on the ice did not go unnoticed as he was awarded player of the game honors for the White Team. After the game Iginla reflected on the amount of talent in the CHL/NHL Prospect Game by saying, "There were a lot of really good players out there, but I don't think anyone's in a different realm. I think I can try to be as dominant as anyone out there, but it was a good game and tons of good players."

Carter George

George showed why he is the number one ranked goalie in North America with his performance on Friday. George only allowed one goal on 12 shots. George looks like a brick wall coming into this draft and should be another hot commodity for NHL teams in this upcoming draft.
