On Saturday, Jan. 27. the Philadelphia Flyers hosted the Boston Bruins. The last time these teams played against each other outside the pre-season was on April 9, 2023, where the Bruins won five to three.

The Flyers went into the game coming off a 4 game losing streak, while the Bruins were fresh off a victory against the Ottawa Senators.

The first goal of the game came late in the first period from David Pastrňák. The goal was shot under the legs of Travis Sanheim and landed in the right corner of the goal. The next point for the Bruins came shortly after when Charlie McAvoy scored off a pass from Pavel Zacha. Almost a minute later, Brandon Carlo scored the Bruins third goal with a long shot also landing in the top right of the goal. The final goal for the first period came from Pastrňák again after the puck ricocheted off the Flyers goalie, Samuel Ersson.

The first period ended with the Bruins leading by four goals, while the Flyers had yet to score.

At the beginning of the second period, James Van Riemsdyk scored the fifth point for the Bruins. This goal came off a blocked shot from Noah Cates.

Tyson Foerster scored the first goal for the Flyers late in the second period. The shot went under the legs of both Brandon Carlo and goalie Linus Ullmark.

In the middle of the third period Tyson Foerster scored the second goal for the Flyers brining the score to 5-2, with the Bruins still up. It was Foerster's second goal of the game and the first time Tyson has scored two goals in one game while playing for the Flyers. The Bruins responded back with Charlie Coyle scoring off the assist from Trent Frederic.

The Bruins now boast the best record in the Atlantic Division with 31 wins, nine losses, and nine overtime losses. The Flyers hold the third-best record in the Metropolitan Division with 25 wins, 19 losses, and six overtime losses.
