Boldy signs 7-Year, $49 Million Extension

The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that 21-year old forward Matt Boldy had signed an extension. The seven year contract will keep the 21-year old forward in Minnesota through the 2029-30 season, and will carry an average annual value of $7 Million.

The extension comes as no surprise, as the forward is fourth on the team in points, with 12 goals and 17 assists, and appears to be a long term building block that the team hopes can continue to grow. With Mats Zuccarello’s contract set to expire after the 2023-24 season, Boldy could potentially be set up to slot in to the winger spot opposite of Kirill Kaprizov in a few years, and the team is banking on his high level of play to continue, and hopefully, grow even more.
