5 NHL Players - Indefinite Leave

Five NHL players in the last four days have been granted indefinite leave. This includes Michael McLeod and Cal Foote of the New Jersey Devils, Carter Hart of the Philidelphia Flyers, Dilon Dube of the Calgary Flames and Alex Formenton who is a former NHL player that now plays in Europe. All five players were on the 2018 Canada World Junior hockey team.

The lawsuit comes from a woman who said she was sexually assaulted by 8 members of the gold medal winning team at a gala. On Wednesday these five were asked to surrender to the police to face the charges of sexual assault. The Devils released a statement saying, "The club will have no further comment at this time." All five players are expected to face these charges in London, Ontario, Canada.

The Flyers have yet to say anything on their social media platforms about Carter Hart’s leave of absence, and Calgary has yet to release anything about Dilon Dube’s. Overall, there has been very limited information on this as it is still a developing story.
