Is Mathew Stafford Playing Injured?

The Los Angeles Rams are reeling from a 3-game losing streak heading into Week 13. The quarterback Mathew Stafford has stalled the MVP talks with subpar stats and multiple turnovers recently.

ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports that Stafford, “has been dealing with pain in his throwing arm, his elbow, a sore ankle, and chronic back pain, per sources.”

This begs the question, is Stafford playing through substantial pain, or is this just a cover-up from the Rams? Although, it is obvious to see that ever since Stafford missed two practices and was limited on Friday prior to the Titan’s game in week 9, he has not been quite the same quarterback. If he is as banged-up as reported then one should wonder how come the Rams haven’t had Stafford on the injured list. The Rams are either covering up for Stafford or he is actually playing hurt, and not doing so well.

Going into week 13, the Rams (7-4) will face the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) in only the 6th meeting between the two teams. Both teams are coming into this game needing a win with the Rams coming off a 3-game losing streak and looking to stay in the NFC playoff hunt. The Jaguars are looking to score another huge upset victory as they did against the Bills. The microscope will be on McVay and Stafford heading into this game.
