Week 5 was a tough showing for the Baltimore Ravens receiver group and that is not excluding Zay Flowers, as in a game that featured a noticeable amount of drops from receivers, the Ravens dropped a game that it felt as if they were in control of for most of the way to the Steelers 10-17 this past Sunday. Flowers was targeted eleven times on Sunday which was good for the team high out pacing the next highest receiver by one target, and hauled in five of those targets for 73 yards against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Bringing Flowers’ totals after this game to 29 catches on 40 targets, good for 317 yards and he is still looking to find the end zone for the first time in his young career. None the less, some solid numbers through his first five games of his NFL career.

The Baltimore Ravens used a first round, 22nd overall pick on the WR out of Boston College, and thus far while he’s been working to establish a connection with his new QB Lamar Jackson, he has been productive and it appears that Flowers is setting up to be the number one wide receiver option along side TE Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens offense for the foreseeable future. Flowers will look to continue to establish that rapport with his new team in Baltimore, as the receiver group will look to get back on track and put forth a better showing as a unit this week when the Ravens take on the Tennessee Titans in Tennessee in week six. With the number of looks QB Lamar Jackson is throwing his way each game, it appears it will only be a matter of time before the explosive Flowers finds his way into the end zone for the first time.
