Zach Wilson Improves & Dorian Thompson-Robinson Shines in Hall of Fame Opener

Canton, Ohio (PSF)- Football is so back. The Jets and Browns dueled it out in the league’s first preseason game of the season. The Browns ended up winning the game 21-16. There were two specific things that stood out to me in this game, those are the play of both Zach Wilson and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Both quarterbacks did their thing, even if one had more of an impact than the other.

Wilson didn’t play much, but when he did he made the most of his opportunities. Wilson completed 3/5 passes, threw for 67 yards, and no touchdowns. The quarterback only played one quarter so he didn’t receive a ton of snaps. I thought the Jets were going to leave him in for longer but I guess not. Wilson had a fantastic throw for 57 yards, that was the highlight of his day. Other than that it was alright, I’m just glad he looked competent out there. I’m hoping Aaron Rodgers can mentor him as much as possible.

Kellen Mond did alright, he settled in as the game continued. His interception was bad though, he needs to clean that part of his game up. He’s definitely feeling the pressure after seeing Dorian Thomphson-Robinson’s performance tonight. Robinson looked in command of the offense, he completed 8/11 passes, threw for 85 yards, and threw for 1 touchdown. I like how confident Robinson looked, he also really impressed me with his ability to step up in the pocket. Again, nothing was too crazy but he showed me that his physical traits can be utilized at the next level. He is now on my list of players I will be watching out for in the preseason. Kellen Mond better watch out, this guy might take his job.
