NFL Pick’em: My Weekly Pick

For those who are just joining us, I’ve entered a NFL Pick’em tournament. The concept is simple, pick one team to win each week, no reusing teams, ties count as losses, if you pick wrong, you’re out, the last man standing gets the pot. Simple enough when its your friends playing, but when it becomes a 50-60 person league and everyone is buying in for $50-$100, you can see the incentive to putting a lot of effort into picking right (6000 reasons not to pick wrong to be exact). Well this year I just so happen to find myself a part of one of these leagues, and I thought it’d be a cool series to keep my viewers updated on just how long I last (hopefully till the end). Each week i’ll post my pick for the week and feel free to follow it, or not, I’m really just trying to have fun (and make some money).

Last week was fairly uneventful compared to the weeks prior. We picked the Carolina Panthers to beat the Texans on Thursday Night Football, and without too much nail-biting, the Panthers took the dub. Getting the pick out of the way on Thursday really made my Sunday a little less stressful, but this week the Bengals Jags game just seemed a little too close for comfort. 5 people picked incorrectly last week so the initial count of 50 people is now down to 43, fingers crossed lets get into it…

How about them Bills! We’re using one of the better teams in the league this week but the other matchups were a little too scary for my taste. The Tennessee Titans seemed like an attractive pick, but for some reason my gut is telling me Zach Wilson and the Jets get their first win this week with an upset. For these reasons, we are putting our faith in Josh Allen and the Bills versus the same Houston team we picked against last week (let’s hope they don’t read this). Hopefully the Bills can let the good times roll and keep me alive! (Hopefully) See you back here same time next week!
