In Week 9 versus the Las Vegas Raiders, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL in a crushing 30 - 6 loss. The Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels, so the Raiders were coached in this game by interim head coach Antonio Pierce, former linebacker of the New York Giants. This injury is a huge blow to Jones, who signed a new 160-million-dollar deal in the 2023 offseason. He’s dealt with some injuries in every year as a pro, even this year when Jones suffered a neck injury he suffered in early October that he just returned from.

The Giants plan to start rookie undrafted free agent Tommy DeVito to finish out the year. Many fans look to the Draft, as this season is seemingly lost. Assuming the team continues to struggle, they will likely hold a top 3 pick in a very talented draft class. The two most common names tied with the Giants recently are Southern California quarterback Caleb Williams and North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.

With Jones being out for an extended time — likely for some time into next season — a new quarterback in East Rutherford is likely for next season.
