Where Will Marvin Harrison Jr. End Up in the NFL?
With some teams being in the offseason stage, it’s about that time when teams decide who they’re looking to draft come in April. A big name that comes to mind for most teams is Marvin Harrison Jr., a wide receiver out of Ohio State University. Marvin Harrison Jr. had a great final season of college football, having 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns in 12 games, which opened up a lot of eyes to NFL teams that could potentially draft him and can use him to make an impact in the NFL as a rookie starter.
Here are some teams that need a wide receiver that have a shot of drafting Marvin Harrison Jr.
1. Chicago Bears
With the help of the Carolina Panthers trading the first-round pick to the Bears and being the worst team in the NFL this season, the Chicago Bears have a shot at Marvin Harrison Jr. which, if they acquire him, he’ll expand the network of the good wide receiver core they have with receivers D.J. Moore, Darnell Mooney, and tight end Cole Kmet all being led by quarterback Justin Fields. Marvin would add as a good wide receiver 2 to that core and will already have a connection with Justin Fields since they both played at the same college. If the Bears were to draft Harrison, there’s a good possibility they can make a postseason run next season as a Wild Card team.
2. New England Patriots
Ever since the Patriots have hired Jerod Mayo as Head Coach, the team has really shown that they want to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. due to the young and weak passing game New England currently has with quarterbacks Mac Jones, and Bailey Zappe, and wide receivers Demario Douglas, DeVante Parker, and Tyquan Thornton. Harrison can probably take over as the star receiver for the Patriots and will open doors for the run game led by running backs Rhamondre Stevenson, and Ezekiel Elliot, and with that he can also make plays and be a good mid-yardage route runner to hopefully put this offense together and bring back the success of the New England Patriots.
3. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals have been on a deep struggle with injuries on both sides the past few seasons, but if they were to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. and not sustain a lot of injuries, they have a good chance of at least making the Wild Card round. If the Cardinals draft Harrison, he can provide support to the receiver core of Rondale Moore, Michael Wilson, and Greg Dortch which had a weak presence this season being ranked 26th in passing, but ranked 4th in rushing behind running backs James Conner, Michael Carter, and Emari Demercado who all had to contribute because Conner was hurt beginning of the season which made Carter, and Demercado play a fill in role as rotational backs. Although the Cardinals have struggled the past few years, there is a chance to get Marvin Harrison Jr. and turn things around for the Cardinals.
4. Tennessee Titans
After firing former Head Coach Mike Vrabel, there may be a chance that the new head coach of Tennessee may convert to a spread offense now after maybe just losing the Titans’ franchise running back Derrick Henry. With this being in mind, the best step would be to go after an offensive threat, and Marvin Harrison Jr. may be that guy for Tennessee to take a chance on. Marvin Harrison would be able to learn from wide receiver Deandre Hopkins, who arguably was a great receiver in his prime, could help Harrison grow as a leader and NFL receiver in the Titans.
5. Atlanta Falcons
With the Atlanta Falcons firing former Head Coach Arthur Smith, whoever lands the head coaching job might want to start fresh and grab another offensive weapon like Marvin Harrison Jr. If the Falcons grab Harrison, the Falcons’ offense can have a chance of taking the team to the playoffs with the young talented offense led by quarterbacks Desmond Ridder, and Taylor Heinicke, and have running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts. Marvin Harrison could be a wide out in this offense and contribute early in his career and bring back the Atlanta Falcons offense back to where it needs to be with this young and talented skill core.
No matter where Marvin Harrison Jr. ends up, he looks like a complete NFL starter already and just needs mentorship to prepare him for the future. There is no doubt that Marvin Harrison Jr. will do big things for whatever team that drafts him.
