Where will Justin Fields End Up this Offseason?
Justin Fields is currently on the Chicago Bears roster and there is a good chance he will be heading to a different team. The Bears have the first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and will likely pick Caleb Williams. Fields has been on fraud watch for a while now and while he played decent towards the end of the 2023 Season, it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
Fields threw for 2,562 yards and 16 touchdowns. He missed a little over four games this season and didn’t have much value in the quarterback position. People worry about his accuracy and how explosive he can be with his legs. Fields ran for 657 yards and looked like a starting quarterback toward the end of the season. The Bears have stuck with him for a while now, and it is time Justin sets up shop somewhere else and the Bears reset at quarterback.
The Atlanta Falcons are currently without a starting quarterback. They played Desmond Ridder for most of their season and did not get what they expected out of him. Atlanta has some great offensive weapons in Bijan Robinson and Drake London. Justin Fields seems like he would fit in well with their offense if it is done correctly. This past 2023 Season we saw Bijan Robinson not get as many snaps as expected and Atlanta’s offense struggled all year. As they reset at coach with Raheem Morris, they could potentially bring in Justin Fields to give their offense another dangerous offensive weapon.
The New England Patriots are another option for Fields. When people think of the Patriots quarterback, they think of Tom Brady. A pure pocket passer and bringing in a guy like Fields is just the opposite of that. Also thinking of the Patriots, Bill Belichick comes to mind, now that they have parted from both, it is time to start fresh in New England and switch things up at quarterback. Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe have been huge letdowns and giving them another season to throw down the drain would not be entertaining. Getting Fields at quarterback would make this offense more dynamic and give them a better shot in their competitive division.
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a good roster and coach but missing big at quarterback. The Steelers always seem to be getting the quarterback that the Bears decide to move off as they did with Mitch Trubisky. Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph are not the future for Pittsburgh. They have mediocre seasons but have not been reliable enough to remain starters in the NFL. Giving Fields a shot at this could spice up the Steeler’s offense and allow them an opportunity to make the playoffs next season. The Steelers have a great wide receiver in George Pickens, and they could be a great duo in Pittsburgh.
The last team I could see Fields ending up with is the Denver Broncos. Sean Peyton’s first season in Denver looked nothing like his time with the Saints. He struggled to get on the same page as Russel Wilson and even benched him. With their chemistry lacking and Wilson digressing. Giving Fields a change in Denver could be a spark for this team. Sean Peyton is a solid coach and could play Fields to his abilities. A lot of the struggles we saw with Fields in Chicago was the coach not using him in the right way. Putting a veteran coach together with a quarterback with a lot of potential could work well in Denver.
Justin Fields has proven at times to be a good starting quarterback. While those times are great, he has also been inconsistent, injured, turnover-prone, and inaccurate in times that matter. The magic happens when Fields makes a play outside of the pocket. A team that gets Fields and uses him in the right way will find success with him as their starter. Chicago will most likely move off of Fields this offseason if they draft Caleb Williams. With that being said, Fields is a good quarterback with a lot of potential and will find himself playing for a different team next season.
