Week TEN Headlines
Kadarius Toney shines against jacksonville, Washington hands the Eagles their first loss, T.J. boosts Steelers defense, Vikings and Bills have game of the year
Kadarius Toney has first breakout game as a Chief
First-round Giants draft pick Kadarius Toney had a decent but inconsistent first season in the NFL. This season with New York, he had struggled with injuries, leading him to be traded to Kansas City for a third and sixth-round draft pick.
Those injuries don’t seem to be nagging him so far.
His most recent performance showed Toney grab 4 catches for 57 yards and one touchdown, as well as 33 rushing yards. He had some impressive receptions that displayed why the Giants selected him 20th overall. It may just be one game, but the sky is the limit when Patrick Mahomes is your quarterback.
The Eagles win streak ends against Commanders
I remember watching Washington beat the Steelers in 2020 to hand them their first loss of the season. Two years later, they are doing the same thing to the Eagles.
I still don’t know if Taylor Heinicke is serviceable as a full-time quarterback. But one thing’s clear: he’s brings a lot more energy and optimism than Carson Wentz. Terry McLaurin has certainly reaped the benefits of Heinicke back under center.
Ron Rivera gave an emotional postgame speech, paying tribute to his mother that recently passed away.
Steelers get back to form upon T.J. Watt’s return
Speaking of Pittsburgh, the Steelers got a victory against Andy Dalton and the Saints, their first in nearly a month. Dalton now has a 3-14 record against the Steelers with an average passer rating of 76.3. Pittsburgh’s defense returned to its elite form, logging 2 interceptions, two sacks and holding the Saints to less than 200 yards of total offense. It’s almost like they were missing a certain player on that side of the ball…
Pittsburgh’s offense was fueled by their defense’s performance, having arguably their best game of the season.
Vikings and Bills have potential Super Bowl matchup
What else is there to say about this game that hasn’t already been said? Josh Allen and Kirk Cousins went toe-to-toe in the NFL’s best game of the year so far. Justin Jefferson and Stefon Diggs continue to prove why they are among the NFL’s elite receivers. The two alone combined for 321 yards, and both had receptions worthy of the Catch of the Year award. In the end, Allen just made too many late-game mistakes, which gave Minnesota the win. He now leads the league in interceptions and is 0-4 in overtime games. While I still believe he is a top 5 quarterback, his decision making is starting to come into question.
