Week Eight Headlines
A.J. Brown goes off against the Steelers, NFC South battle goes in favor of Atlanta, Tua gets Dolphins back on track, DeAndre Hopkins getting back to All-Star form
A.J. Brown has career day against Pittsburgh
For as long as I’ve been a Steelers fan, the Eagles seem to always be a team we perform poorly against. This game was no exception. The Eagles make an argument for being the best team in the league, while the Steelers are arguably the worst. A.J. Brown continues his success in Philly, as he tallied six receptions for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Falcons and Panthers turn the clock back seven years
Who would’ve thought that the Panthers and Falcons would be battling for the top of the division almost midway through the season? More importantly, who thought that it would go down to an overtime field goal with a combined 71 points? Welcome to the NFL in 2022.
Terrace Marshall had his best day in the NFL, and D’Onta Foreman also shined with 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns. As a Titans fan, I don’t know why we got rid of Foreman, considering how he did in Derrick Henry’s absence. It was at least good to see him shine elsewhere.
The Falcons’ run game has quietly been one of the best in the league, ranking fifth in the NFL for rushing yards per game. They added to their season total.
This game was a duel no one was expecting, but it turned out to be the most exciting matchup of the day.
The Dolphins remain undefeated with Tua Tagovailoa fully under center
It was looking grim for Miami when Tua Tagovailoa went down against the Bengals. The team dropped three straight, and Tagovailoa’s future was uncertain with the degree of his injury/concussion. However, Tua is back, and so is the Dolphins offense. Miami rallied back from double-digit deficits twice against the Lions. There were concerns about Tyreek Hill’s inability to perform without Patrick Mahomes. His league-lead in yards say otherwise. He and Jaylen Waddle logged 294 yards and two touchdowns on the day. Tagovailoa, Hill and Waddle may be the new Big Three in Miami after all.
DeAndre Hopkins returns to elite form
DeAndre Hopkins has not played since December of last year. Despite missing time, Hopkins has not missed a beat. He is back to making those incredible catches that make it nearly impossible to guard him. Even though the Cardinals lost, it is clear that Hopkins is back with a vengeance.
