Week 9 Eagles Vs. Chargers Takeaways
In week 9, the Eagles faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers and played a game that had everyone on the edge of their seats. The game ended 27-24 for a Chargers win with a field goal kicked with a few seconds left in the game. During this game, my confidence in Jalen Hurts went up a little bit. He was able to complete some long passes, did not have any interceptions, and threw for a touchdown. He also got Devonta Smith in on the action which was really nice to see. Personally, I’m a huge fan of Smith and I think he has a lot of potential to be an amazing receiver in the league. The Eagles run game was also a lot more prevalent in this game as well. Jordan Howard rushed for 71 yards and had a touchdown, and Hurts rushed for 62 yards. The team overall had 176 rushing yards and 162 receiving yards. For me, I really like seeing more rushing yards than receiving because it shows that there has been improvement in that section of the team and that improvement has been very much needed. I wish we could have seen some more receiving yards, but overall the performance was still pretty good. The defense was making a lot of big stops when needed, but sadly on the last drive came short of that which led to the loss. The game was very back and forth and could have easily gone either way. Hopefully, the team can take the improvements that they have made so far this season and apply them to the game this week against the Broncos.
