Week 8 Top 10

The start of this NFL season has been very hectic. Tampa Bay has not looked good, losing to the tanking Panthers. Green Bay has been more than a letdown, losing close games, and looking sluggish in all aspects. Similarly, the New York Giants have shocked the world jumping out to a 6-1 start.

The Philadelphia Eagles are undefeated, and the Seattle Seahawks have looked very good in what everyone assumed would be a rebuilding year.

With all the craziness of this season, here are my top 10 players:

1.      Josh Allen

No surprise here. Josh Allen has been the most dominant player throughout the league for awhile now. This year, he has been even better, throwing for 1,980 yards, and 17 touchdowns through 7 weeks.

2.      Micah Parsons

Micah Parsons has been a game changer. He can play literally any position and be the best at every position he is playing. Parsons has recorded seven sacks so far. Whether he is lining up as a defensive lineman, a linebacker, or a safety, Parsons is always the most dominant player on the field.

3.      Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes will be on this list until he retires. Year in year out Mahomes continues to show the NFL just how great he is. Mahomes is a not the typical quarterback, he can scramble, and make wild throws wild scrambling. The term β€œMahomes Magic” has been coined simply because of how dominant he is at making these crazy plays.

4.      Jalen Hurts

The second Jalen Hurts was drafted in 2020 I made the claim that Hurts would be the best quarterback in that class. This class featured Joe Burrow, and Justin Herbert. For the first two years of his career, Hurts has not played like the best quarterback in his draft class, but everything is starting to come together for him this year. Hurts has been playing at an MVP caliber level this season and has his Eagles in first place in the entire NFC at 6-0.

5.      Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow started the season slow but has looked amazing over the last six weeks. Burrow has thrown for over 2,000 yards already this year, but he is also getting it done with his legs, which was not expected out of him. Burrow’s recent play has put him firmly in the MVP race.

6.      Nick Chubb

Nick Chubb has led the NFL in rushing yards through week seven with 740 yards. Chubb has been unstoppable. Each week Chubb becomes the Browns workhorse, and for good reason. When Chubb gets going, there is no stopping him.

7.      Justin Jefferson

Justin Jefferson is simply the best receiver in the NFL. While he may not lead the league in receiving yards, his abilities on the field are unmatched. Jefferson causes issues for every defensive back across the league.

8.      Sauce Gardner

Sauce Gardner was drafted fourth overall by the New York Jets in this past years draft. Sauce has quickly asserted himself as not only the best rookie in the NFL, but the best defensive back in the NFL. Sauce has only been credited with one touchdown, and it was on a play where the Jets weren’t set. Sauce will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

9.      Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley returned this season after multiple injuries have kept his sidelined the last couple of years. Saquon has looked just like his old self, rushing for 726 yards through seven weeks, and leading the Giants to a shocking 6-1 start.

10.  Darius Slay

Darius Slay has been a lock down defensive back. He has played a big role in helping the Eagles start undefeated. With Hurts leading them on offense, the defense needed someone to step up and make some big time plays, and Slay has been that guy.
