Week 4 Preview: Lions vs Packers

The Packers and Lions are both coming off a Week 3 win and both are looking to keep their momentum rolling in this divisional matchup.

The Packers clawed a win against the New Orleans Saints with the Saints missing a game-winning field goal at the end of regulation.

Before the Derek Carr injury, the Packers were struggling to stop the Saints offense with the absence of cornerback Jaire Alexander. Alexander was limited in practice on Tuesday and his status for the game on Thursday is still unclear.

The comeback win was huge for the Packers locker room morale and confidence but, the defense nearly lost the game on the final drive. The Packers desperately need to get running back Aaron Jones and wide receiver Christian Watson back to help out quarterback Jordan Love with more offensive options.

The Lions are also dealing with injuries in their secondary with safety Kerby Joseph and cornerback Emmanuel Moseley both being questionable for Thursday night. Moseley still has yet to make his debut for the Lions after being signed to a two-year-deal worth 9.3 million dollars in the offseason.

Although the Lions were banged up in the secondary in their Week 3 matchup against the Falcons they still held Desmond Ridder to just 201 passing yards.

This is a divisional game so past performances never matter in these matchups, just look at Jacksonville vs Houston in Week 3. Either team can take this one and the Packers have been notorious with stopping the Lions no matter how hot they are.

The Lions defense had an extremely strong showing against the Falcons and if they can produce the same with the Packers offensive line having injuries of their own they can easily hold the Packers offense to a standstill.

My prediction for the game’s score is a Lions win with a final score of 24-17.
