NFC West Week 10 Recap

The NFC West had a wild Week 10.

Arizona Cardinals 25, Atlanta Falcons 23

This game saw quarterback Kyler Murray return from a torn ACL injury suffered late in the 2022 season. In addition to carrying the ball six times for 33 yards and a touchdown, he completed 19 of 32 passes for 249 yards and one interception. Murray looked like his old self, racing around the field, dodging pressure and picking up first downs. The offense looked good with him back in the game.

Two other standout performers for the Cardinals were wide receivers Trey McBride (eight receptions, 131 yards) and James Conner (16 carries, 73 yards), who both opened the door for Murray in the run game. The real concern, though, is whether Murray will be able to play the following games in the same manner or if this is a one-time occurrence.

Los Angeles Rams (Bye Week)

Coming out of their bye, the Rams face the Seattle Seahawks in a divisional matchup. Their next three games after that are showdowns against the Arizona Cardinals, Cleveland Browns, and Baltimore Ravens. With a mildly favorable schedule throughout the rest of the season, the Rams look to make a playoff push in the second half of the season after their bye.

Seattle Seahawks 29, Washington Commanders 26

The Seahawks vs. Commanders game was another fantastic NFC West game. Geno Smith had a great game, going 31 for 47 on completions for 369 yards and two touchdowns. WR D.K. Metcalf had seven receptions for 98 yards with no touchdowns, but WR Tyler Lockett had eight receptions for 92 yards and one touchdown.

The Seahawks rise to 6-3 on the year. They have been good enough on the offensive side of the ball to hang tight, but Seattle’s defense is what has helped the offense throughout the season.

But let’s talk about Commanders as Sam Howell did have a great game as well, he went for 29 out of 44 completions for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns as he tried to bring the team to a victory but he couldn’t pull it off against the Seahawks which was a closer game than anyone would have imagined.

San Francisco 49ers 34, Jacksonville Jaguars 3

The third game for the NFC West since the Rams had their bye week this week, but the Niners absolutely destroyed the Jaguars this week. New 49er Chase Young contributed to this defensive performance in his debut with the team. Brock played amazing with all of his starters that aren’t hurt anymore, as he went 19 for 26 for completions on the day with 296 yards and 3 touchdowns as well. Kittle had three catches for 116 yards with one touchdown on the day which was a great day for him in the yards category. Now the Niners aren’t in the losing bracket as they win, their first game after losing 3 straight games as they advance to 6-3 and Jaguars are still 6-3 and have a good record still. With the weapons the Niners have on both sides of the field are they contenders for the Super Bowl if no one gets hurt throughout the remainder of the season or are they frauds? I wouldn’t think so because I’m going to say it again with the weapons the Niners have I don’t see them losing again unless someone important to the team gets hurt in the process. Brock average 11.4 yards a throw which if I’m not mistaken is basically a first down on every throw or close to it it sounds crazy that the Jaguars could stop the passing game at all.

The Niners have a couple of week's games they need to win before they play the Eagles in Week 13. Two powerhouse offenses and defenses which is going to be great. But they need to win these next two games which are against Tampa Bay and the Seattle Seahawks to be 8-3 and be in the playoff talks which again they already are.

NFC West Standings:

  1. San Francisco 49ers (6-3)

  2. Seattle Seahawks (6-3)

  3. Los Angeles Rams (3-6)

  4. Arizona Cardinals (2-8)
