Watch Out Now, Trevor Lawrence Might Be a Fantasy League Winner

Jacksonville, Florida (PSF) - As the former number one overall pick Trevor Lawrence gets ready to enter year three in his young NFL career, the future in Jacksonville couldn’t be brighter. In his rookie season, Lawrence struggled in what was the disaster of an Urban Meyer led football team. He hardly had any weapons and his running mate from the first round and who also happened to be his college running back at Clemson, Travis Etienne, missed his entire rookie season with a torn achilles.

Last year the Jaguars went out and hired Super Bowl winning Head Coach Doug Pederson, who turned the team around immediately. Jacksonville was the hottest team in the league during the second half of the year and made the playoffs. One position group responsible for this turnaround was the receiving core, centered around newly signed receivers Christian Kirk and Zay Jones. A new weapon at the tight end position in Evan Engram also had some huge games down the stretch as well.

During the trade deadline last season, the Jaguars front office decided they wanted an even bigger weapon and traded for Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Ridley was unfortunately suspended for the entire 2022 sseason so he cannot make his debut until week one of this season. Although, that did not stop Ridley and the Jaguars offense from playing a few drives in their preseason opener against the Cowboys, and let me tell you, they looked pretty darn electric.

Trevor Lawrence is only going to get better and usually these generational quarterbacks taken early in the draft explode in their third year. My advice would be to not miss out on drafting Trevor Lawrence for your fantasy team this year as he could easily finish the season top five in passing yards and touchdowns.
