Top Landing Spots for Tee Higgins

The Cincinnati Bengals may not be able to re-sign their star wide receiver Tee Higgins with the many big contracts that are coming up in the next few years. If Higgins is not re-signed, I wanted to give my input on where I believe his top landing spots could be.

Higgins will be one of the top free agents if he hits the open market with many teams looking to make him an addition to their roster this offseason.

Tennessee Titans

This one makes the most sense with the Titans hiring Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan as their new head coach. The Titans are in clear rebuild mode and why not start the rebuild off with a big splash signing that gives your young quarterback a reliable safety net.

Callahan has been with Higgins his entire career in Cincinnati and knows how to properly implement him into the offense he wants to run with the Titans. The Titans desperately need a clear-cut wide receiver one with them not having anyone outstanding in their wide receiver room. The signing of veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was good, but did not pan out the way many fans hoped with Hopkins just not being a number one caliber wide receiver at this point in his career.

Carolina Panthers

This one is very similar to the Titans in the concept of giving your young quarterback a reliable target to always have as a safety net. We saw this with wide receiver Adam Thielen this year becoming a safety valve for rookie quarterback Bryce Young.

The addition of a wide receiver like Tee Higgins could push the offense in the right direction especially with newly hired head coach Dave Canales running a similar system of offense in Tampa Bay this year. The Panthers are another team that are entering a rebuild and additions like these can greatly advance the timetable on the rebuild itself.

Washington Commanders

The Commanders are in the same situation as the two teams previously mentioned. Higgins can be brought in as a great first weapon for the Commanders likely first-round pick North Carolina’s Quarterback Drake Maye. The Commanders also have the cap room to sign Higgins to a massive deal that a wide receiver one would receive in todays league. The only deterring factor to the Commanders is if Higgins likes the head coach in Dan Quinn for the Commanders.
