Top 5 AFC South Performances of Week 4

#1 Jacksonville Jaguars defense

What a week for this defense. The Jags dominated the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL’s first game in London. The defense of the Jags only allowed 7 points, totaled 4 sacks, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 interceptions, one of them going for a touchdown. Overall, a great day for the Jag’s defense, they hope to build on this in their upcoming game against a high-scoring Buffalo Bills.

#2 CJ Stroud

It’s only been four weeks, but it’s safe to say that Houston has found their quarterback. CJ Stroud had another stellar outing against the Steelers, he led the Texans to a 30-6 win. The Texans quarterback threw 16/30 passes, threw for 306 passing yards, and threw 2 touchdowns as well. Just a solid day overall. What really surprises me about Stroud is how professional he looks. He makes veteran throws and doesn’t turn the ball over much. He also has a lot of positive traits for such a young player. If I’m a Texans fan, I feel great about the state of the organization.

#3 Anthony Richardson

Anthony Richardson almost won the game for the Colts, sadly he and the team fell short. Though the Colts failed to win the game in overtime, they continue to be proud of their young quarterback’s play. Richardson started slow resulting in the Colts losing by a 23-0 deficit. Eventually, the offense got it going and came all the way back, mainly due to Richardson’s improved play. The quarterback went 11/25, threw for 200 yards, and 2 touchdowns. On the ground, Richardson also ran for 56 yards on 10 attempts. Yes, his passing stats do not look great, but he made enough plays to get his team all the way back tied 23-23 to go into overtime to win the game. The talent is there, you can see it. His passing needs work, to say the least, but this is another promising performance to build on.

#4 Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry bounced back against the Cincinnati Bengals. The running back has yet to have an impressive performance this season, he needed this one to build some positive momentum. Henry dominated on the ground for an impressive 122 yards on 22 carries, while also scoring 1 touchdown. The Titans hope to see another similar stat line against the Colts this weekend.

#5 NICo Collins

Oh, look, another young Texan. Collins now has two 100-plus-yard games so far this season. In Week 4 against the Steelers, the receiver impressed with 168 yards on 7 receptions for 2 touchdowns. Collins looks to be the number-one receiver for Houston, Stroud has loved throwing to him. The quarterback and receiver have built quite the rapport so far in this young season. I’m excited to see how both of them grow their chemistry as the weeks go on.
