Las Vegas, Nevada (PSF) - Just when you thought seven-time Super Bowl champion and the greatest player in football history was gone forever, Tom Brady is still here to stay and make headlines everywhere in the news industry.

In fact, you can even make the argument that being forgotten and not paid attention to is the story and theme of Brady’s first ballot hall of fame career going back to his high school recruiting and college football days at Michigan. Although, that is besides the point.

Throughout this past NFL season, there were several moments and times where it looked like Brady was done and was finally going to end a career that nobody else in football history has come close to achieving. You couldn’t count him out until he finally made his decision in early February, taking to Instagram to announce his official retirement, again, in an emotional video after he wrote his long “retirement” last offseason until he ultimately decided to return to Tampa Bay and play his last season of his career for the Buccaneers.

Now that Brady is officially retired for good, a new chapter and stage of his life has begun. So far in retirement, Brady was involved in the creation and production of the “80 for Brady” movie, now his second big move in retirement is taking his talents from the gridiron to the hardware and the responsibilities that come with ownership of a professional WNBA franchise in the Las Vegas Aces.

Here’s what Brady had to say in a statement about acquiring ownership stake in the franchise:

“I am very excited to be part of the Las Vegas Aces organization” Brady said. “My love for women’s sports began at a young age when I would tag along to all my older sister’s games-they were by far the best athletes in our house! We celebrated their accomplishments together as a family, and they remain a great inspiration to me. I have always been a huge fan of women’s sports, and I admire the work that the Aces’ players, staff, and the WNBA continue to do to grow the sport and empower future generations of athletes. To be able to contribute in any way to that mission as a member of the Aces organization is an incredible honor.”

As for Brady’s new bosses, here’s what they had to say regarding the decision:

“Tom Brady is a win not only for the Aces, and the WNBA, but for women’s professional sports as a whole,” Mark Davis, owner of the Aces as well as the Las Vegas Raiders, said in a statement.

WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert also released a statement, saying:

“We are pleased to see the incredible momentum around the WNBA continue as evidenced by our recent league and team equity deals. We look forward to welcoming Tom Brady as an owner once the league process and approvals are complete. We have seen Tom Brady courtside at our games and are thrilled he recognizes the value of supporting women’s basketball and the WNBA.”

Brady is still the same competitor he was on the football field for the last two plus decades, that has not changed, as he now looks to bring the Las Vegas Aces a championship the same way he won seven himself, only this time as an owner of the franchise.
