Three Wide Receivers that Could Breakout This Season
Many times during the NFL season there seem to be players that come out of no where that breakout. It could be players that needed a new start with different teams or players that have a new opportunity on their team. In this case I am going to look at three wideouts that are due for a breakout season.
DeVante Parker- New England Patriots
The Patriots acquired Parker from a trade a few months back from the Miami Dolphins. Parker, the former first round draft pick has battled injuries his whole career but looks to be Mac Jones number one option at receiver. Parker had 1,202 yards in 2019, but has only played in 24 games in the last two seasons. I believe Parker will be the Patriots number one option at receiver this season and refuel his career.
Jerry Jeudy- Denver Broncos
Jeudy was the 15th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Broncos. In each of his first two seasons Jeudy has shown promise with 1,323 yards in his first two seasons while battling injuries. Jeudy has also had very poor quarterback play in the early part of his career, so now he has the opportunity to blossom with the Broncos acquiring Russell Wilson in a trade with the Seahawks. I believe Wilson will take Jeudy to the next level.
JuJu Smith-Schuster- Kansas City Chiefs
JuJu signed with the Chiefs this year on a one year deal after leaving the Steelers. JuJu had a great rookie year, but has since been battling injuries, while competing with Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool for the Steelers number one receiver. Now with Tyreek Hill leaving the Chiefs, JuJu has the chance to be Mahomes number two target behind Travis Kelce. Look for a bounce back year for JuJu Smith-Schuster this season.
Honorable Mentions: Rashod Bateman (Ravens), Brandon Aiyuk (49ers), Elijah Moore (Jets).
