The Philadelphia Eagles beat up on the Bucs 25-11

In a game that favored the Eagles by -6.5 pregame, the Eagles managed to cover and then some. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 25-11 last night on Monday Night Football. By flexing a little muscle on both ends of the ball and taking their shots when they needed to. Did Jalen Hurts look great? Not exactly but he did just enough to get the win and “kept the main thing the main thing.”

The Eagles again gave the Philadelphia native running back D’Andre Swift the ball 16 times and rushed for 130 yards. The run then set up passing plays for quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles offense as of right now seems very simple: give Swift the ball and allow the defense to come up to the line to stop the run then burn them with the pass. In between setting up the big run plays to allow Hurts’ arm to flourish the offensive line can “tush push” Hurts on 4th & 1’s up and down the field on defenses.

Defensively the scheme has become that much simpler for defensive coordinator Sean Desai. Let the big boys hunt up front and for the secondary to allow the defensive line time to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks. When the Eagles have Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis on the field at the same time they have established that no running back shall pass by going up the middle. The Eagles’ defensive line can be among the best in franchise history with both the plays they make on the field and the depth that the line possesses with veterans Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham rotating in.

Now the Philadelphia Eagles will welcome the Washington Commanders to Lincoln Financial Field in their first NFC East clash this season.
