The Perfect Fits for C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young
Kansas City, MI (PSF) - The 2023 NFL draft is just one week away. With the draft coming closer and closer we start to hear a lot more rumors on draft pick predictions. A big rumor that came out this past week is that Bryce Young is a lock to go number one overall to the Carolina Panthers.
Personally, I am not buying this rumor because ever since the Panthers traded up with the Bears for the first overall pick, it was made out to seem that C.J. Stroud was going to be the pick for Carolina. Stroud and Young have been competing with each other since high school. They were both in the Heisman race the last two years and now one of them is trying to solidify themselves as the best player in the draft by going number one overall.
I think the best fit for both Stroud and Young are quite simple, itβs picks number one and two overall. That being said, Stroud going first to the Panthers and Young going second to the Houston Texans. Carolina just seems like a much better fit for Stroud and after he crushed it at the combine, he is looking like the best quarterback in this draft. Plus, the Panthers new Head Coach Frank Reich has a history of playing with quarterbacks that are 6β3 and taller. Bryce Young does not fall into that category only being 5β10. With Bryce Young going number two overall to Houston, it feels like a very good match for them too because Houston needs a real leader in charge to get this franchise headed in the right direction. After being at Alabama under Nick Saban, Young has all the tools to lead a team no matter how young he is. It would also be a blessing for Houstonβs first year Head Coach Demeco Ryans to have a quarterback of Youngβs caliber to start this run with each other.
