It’s almost been a week since the NFL draft, and now teams are announcing jerseys numbers for the upcoming rookies. Not that exciting news for most fans, but this moment for these rookies is a massive step in their professional football careers. To some players a number can have sentimental value, while others don’t really care. The New York Giants revealed the rookie numbers today in a twitter post and it would seem that fans on twitter have more of an issue on the numbers more then the players.

Are there ugly numbers on a jersey? Yes, linemen are typically the ones with the ugly high value numbers as skill positions get the better-looking numbers. I believe that the Giants front office know this and predict that some of the rookie may want to change their number before the season because on the post there is an asterisk saying the numbers may be “subject to change”.

The rookie minicamp that will happen this weekend for the Giants draft picks, so numbers are not final. Numbers will not be final until the final roster cuts are made for team right before the season, so fans will need to wait until the beginning of the season before buying a brand-new jersey.
