The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the surprise teams so far in the league, improving their win total to 4-2 after a second half stunner against the Los Angeles Rams.

Pittsburgh was down 9-3 at halftime, and it looked like their offense was sputtering once again. All of a sudden, All-Pro outside linebacker TJ Watt made the flashpoint play of the game, picking off Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford to start the 2nd half which set up Pittsburgh for a touchdown. The Rams would only score eight more points from that moment on while the Steelers scored fourteen unanswered points in the 4th quarter to secure their victory.

The jury is still out on whether Steelers QB Kenny Pickett is the answer at the position, so head coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Matt Canada made the gameplay simple for him by limiting his pass attempts and balancing out the pass-to-run plays, only throwing 25 times and rushing 29 times.

Although Pittsburgh ran for a paltry 86 yards on less than three yards a carry, all three of Pittsburgh’s touchdowns came on the ground.

The Steelers face the 5-2 Jacksonville Jaguars, led by former #1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence. Pittsburgh is currently tied with the Ravens, and a win against the Jags coupled with a Baltimore loss will go a long way to taking control of the AFC North for the foreseeable future.
