Shocker in Seattle! Giants outlast Seahawks in chaotic game!

To everybody’s surprise, the New York Giants walked into Lumen Field and silenced the 12th man, winning 29-20 in a game that just may save Big Blue’s season.

If you had asked Giants fans how they were feeling before this game in Seattle, the responses you would have received would be pessimistic at best. Big Blue had just lost a heartbreaker 10 days ago to the Cowboys, and even worse, rookie sensation Malik Nabers was out for this game due to a concussion. It seemed like it was gonna be another rough day at the office for Giants fans.

Those giant concerns were squashed on the opening drive, as Daniel Jones perfectly drove down the field getting the G-Men all the way down to the Seahawks one yard line. But then disaster struck, when on fourth and goal, third string running back, Eric Gray fumbled the ball and Seattle’s Rayshawn Jenkins scooped it up and took it back 101 yards for a Seattle touchdown. Just when things looked to get better, the Giants found a new way to frustrate their fans.

The Giants defense continued to stifle Geno Smith’s offense as it was a 7-0 scoreline at the end of the first quarter. The Giants would come alive in the second quarter, storming down the field. Daniel Jones found Wandale Robinson across the goal line to score and put the game level. Big Blue’s defense excelled again, as Dexter Lawerence shut down a promising Seattle drive, forcing them to punt yet again. The Giants drove down the field, resulting in a field goal to take the lead 10-7. Just before halftime, Seattle’s offense woke up and went down to Giants territory setting up Jason Myers to hit a 43 yard field goal to tie the game up at 10 a piece.

Seattle came out of the tunnel firing to start off the second half. Smith lead the offense down the field getting deep into Giants territory. Everything was going great, and then DK Metcalf fumbled the ball, as cornerback Deonte Banks punched it out and ruined the party. After the fumble Jones took his chance to strike, connecting with Darius Slayton multiple times, including a 30 yard touchdown pass to take back the lead 17-10.

Things didn’t get any better for Seattle despite getting another field goal, as the Giants defensive line continued to devour Geno Smith, sacking him seven times. The dynamic duo of Brian Burns and Dexter Lawerence stifled the run game resulting in a dissapointing day for Seattle Running Back Kenneth Walker III. Burns stepped up on a 4th and 1, sacking Smith and giving the Giants the ball in Seattle’s territory. The Giants would score another field goal making it a 23-13 scoreline at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Seattle didn’t go away in the fourth quarter though, as with six minutes to go, the Seahawks got the ball inside their own ten yard line. In a four minute masterclass, Smith was able to guide his offense all the way down to near the goal line. He found Jaxson Smith Njigba in the back of the end-zone to cut New York’s lead to three with two minutes remaining.

After a Giants three and out, Seattle got the ball with a minute forty left and immediately went to work. Smith ran across the field getting Seattle into field goal range, and was able to get his team a chance to tie it up. Jason Myers took his steps, getting ready to nail a 47 yard kick. Myers was ready to be the hero, until Isaiah Simmons jumped over the blockers and deflected the kick, allowing New York to take it all the way back for a touchdown. The Giants had just walked into Seattle and snatched the win away in the most chaotic fashion.

With this win New York sits at 2-3, with a Sunday Night clash against the Bengals on the horizon. There just may be a semblance of hope in the Big Apple after all.
