San Francisco stuns Green Bay at home

GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN – The number one seed Green Bay Packers have been eliminated from the playoffs after losing to the San Francisco 49ers 13-10. A game-winning field goal by Niner kicker, Robbie Gould, with only five seconds left to go in an absolute stunner of a game sealed the deal for the 49ers.

The Packers scored first driving down the field in dominant fashion as Aaron Rogers looked like he was in rare form and the packers looked like a complete team.

That was all they could muster as the Niner's defense kept them in the game, often stifling Rodgers.

All year long special teams issues plagued the Packers, and it reared its ugly head once again with the 49ers blocking a field goal at the end of the first half.

With only less than five minutes to go in the fourth quarter in the Divisional round of the playoffs, the Green Bay Packers set to punt the football to the San Francisco 49ers and it was blocked!

The 49ers recovered the football to run it into the endzone for a touchdown! “Wow,” said Troy Aikman, pro football Hall of Famer and sports analyst.

Niner’s defensive tackle Jordan Willis broke through the line up the middle and blocked the punt to give the 49ers a special teams touchdown to tie the game 10-10.

On the ensuing drive by Rogers and the Packers in what looked like to have been a desperation attempt, Rodgers on 3rd and 11 heaved a long pass in double coverage to Davante Adams but fell incomplete.

With momentum on their side, the Niner's defense stopped Rogers yet again, forcing a punt. And as San Francisco did against Dallas they began to run the ball down Green Bay’s throat.

In the final two minutes of the game, everything seemed to go right for the Niners as they not only ran the clock down but kicked the game-winning field goal to eliminate the number one seed in the NFC out of the playoffs to advance to the NFC Championship Game. They will face either the defending champions the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Los Angeles Rams.

The Niner's offense and defense clicked on all cylinders when they needed to pull out the win, but it was the special teams that was the difference that lifted the Niners into the NFC Championship game.

It took everything, offense, defense, and special teams everyone just stepping up doing their part.” Said Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo after the win. “Always trust Robbie, he’s good as gold.”
