San Francisco, California (PSF) - At the beginning of the 2022 season, the 49ers had their top three draft pick quarterback Trey Lance to start the year. With Trey Lance getting hurt in week two against the Seattle Seahawks, backup Jimmy Garoppolo had to start. As a starter, Garoppolo went 8-2 but unfortunately suffered a season ending injury in week 12. After that, Mr. Irrelevant, known as Brock Purdy had to start for the rest of the season. In the games he started, Purdy went 8-1, losing in the NFC Championship game after going down with an injury.

Now with the 2023 season coming around the 49ers are in a sticky situation. Do they start there prospect quarterback who they praised so highly, or a quarterback who they took with the last pick in the NFL draft but surprised everyone. Also, the 49ers acquiring Sam Darnold in the off season. What ever quarterback does the best in these pre-season mini camps and pre-season games will be the quarterback to start week one of the 2023 season for the 49ers.
