Ranking Steelers seven Best Off-Season Additions
Pittsburgh Steelers are not known for making big offseason moves, but they have been very active in improving their roster. Here is a look at my rankings of the seven biggest moves made by the Steelers thus far.
1. OL-James Daniels
With the addition of James Daniels, he instantly becomes the best offensive lineman on this Steelers roster. Daniels will make an immediate impact for this offensive line as it was disappointing in the 2021-22 season.
2. WR-George Pickens
A second-round steal who is an athletic playmaker at the wide receiver position. Pickens has already been gaining attention in training camp. With the departure of Juju Smith-Schuster and the uncertainty of Diontae Johnson’s future, Pickens will be a top two or top three wide receiver on this roster. Pickens has potential to emerge into the star of this wide receiver core.
3. LB-Myles Jack
Jack is a versatile, athletic linebacker who can improve the Steelers run defense which was near the bottom of the league last season. Jack will be paired up with Devin Bush Jr. who looks to have a bigger impact in the upcoming season.
4. QB-Mitch Trubisky

Former Bears Pro Bowler Mitch Trubisky, who looks to start a new journey with the Steelers and hopeful of becoming the starting quarterback for the organization. Trubisky looks to win his starting spot in a heated battle between Trubisky, Kenny Pickett, and Mason Rudolph. With an improved situation for Trubisky in Pittsburgh with Najee Harris, a young talented wide receiver core, top defense in the league and an improved offensive line.
5. QB-Kenny Pickett
Pickett a young rookie quarterback with a lot of upside battles for that number one spot in training camp. Pickett might be a third string to start the season, but he isn’t counted out for that starting position. Steelers fans are excited to see what he can do on the field and are looking forward to the young quarterback getting some wins for the organization.
6. OL-Mason Cole
Mason Cole also comes in as an immediate starter as a center on this offensive line. Adds another versatile offensive lineman that can have a positive impact to this offense. With the addition of Cole and Daniels both the run game and pass game will improve.
7. CB-Levi Wallace
Wallace who comes in as a replacement for former Steeler Joe Haden. He is a great fit for this team and a great addition that can improve the secondary.
