Ranking NFL Teams by how watchable they are for the 2022-23 season

The 2022-23 NFL season is here and all 32 teams are ready to display what they have to offer.

As we head into this season, I wanted to rank all teams based on how watchable I think they are going to be. These are solely my opinion and are based on the team’s roster and what they have shown in the past season.

Teams will be placed into one of four tiers. The four tiers consist of the following: special occasion, early season, pretty fun and must see tv.

Special Occasion

Teams that I have no interest in watching unless a player pops off or the score will be close to make me hop on their game.

Seattle Seahawks: Nothing exciting about having Geno Smith or Drew Lock as your quarterback.

Atlanta Falcons: Aside from Kyle Pitts and A.J Terrell, this roster still lacks talent on both ends of the football.

Houston Texans: I’m still not sold on Davis Mills but I would not be surprised to see Brandin Cooks get 1000 receiving yards again.

New York Giants: In a prove-it year for Daniel Jones, I have low expectations that he can be the guy even with the coaching change.

Early Season

Teams that I am up in the air whether or not I should watch them. The first couple of games will determine this.

New York Jets: Zach Wilson will be out for the first couple of games. Joe Flacco will be the starter for the time being and maybe he has a resurgence but I’m not expecting that to happen.

Jacksonville Jaguars: Number one overall picks Trevor Lawrence and Travon Walker will be early indicators for me to watch.

Chicago Bears: I’m hoping Justin Fields can show me better offense than last year but the receiving group and offensive line still worry me.

Carolina Panthers: Baker Mayfield must prove that he can still be a quality starting quarterback.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The offense was hard to watch with Ben Roethlisberger last year. Mitchell Trubisky may be a slight upgrade but still, he was a backup in Buffalo last year.

Washington Commanders: I am skeptical to think that Carson Wentz can play well in Washington when he had the Colts offensive line, Johnathan Taylor and his former Eagles offensive coordinator in Frank Reich last year.

New England Patriots: I have a bad feeling that losing Josh McDaniels has caused a tailspin in the development of Mac Jones.

Cleveland Browns: If Jacoby Brisset can somehow manage this team for 11 games, I will watch them because the talent is there on both sides of the ball.

Detroit Lions: Dan Campbell has created a tough minded culture that could result in better play.

Arizona Cardinals: Kyler Murray would have to be spectacular early on without Deandre Hopkins.

New Orleans Saints: Jameis Winston was actually doing pretty well last season before he got hurt. If he can start like how he did last season, then I will be inclined to watch.

Pretty Fun

Teams that I feel will be fun to watch with the exception of certain things that prevents them from being in the last tier.

Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts must play better with the addition of A.J Brown on offense plus Kyzir White, C.J Gardner-Johnson and James Bradberry on defense.

Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson is an electrifying player but outside of Mark Andrews, the weaponry on offense still remains to be proven.

Miami Dolphins: Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are a good one two punch that should hopefully produce a better play from Tua Tagovailoa.

Tennessee Titans: The defense is solid but the offense really just consists of Derrick Henry at the moment.

San Fransisco 49ers: Trey Lance needs to prove why the 49ers traded up for him, especially with the talent he has on offense and defense.

Indianapolis Colts: Matt Ryan is in a better situation now with the Colts but can he still play at a high level?

Minnesota Vikings: Kirk Cousins has been good but not great in his tenure with Minnesota.

Green Bay Packers: Back to back MVP Aaron Rodgers will have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to make this offense fun to watch with the departure of Davante Adams.

Must See TV

Teams that are head and shoulders above the rest of the teams.

Cincinnati Bengals: With a revamped offensive line, Joe Burrow and his trio of stud receivers in Chase, Higgins and Boyd will be exciting to watch.

Dallas Cowboys: The so-called “America’s team” are always attention grabbers for all NFL fans.

Buffalo Bills: They are currently listed at +500 per FanDuel as the favorite to win the Super Bowl this year.

Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes is still must see tv despite the departure of Tyreek Hill.

Las Vegas Raiders: Whenever you are able to add the best wide receiver in Davante Adams, people are going to tune in.

Los Angeles Chargers: Justin Herbert is one of the best young quarterbacks in the league. But I’m excited to see the defense which includes Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, Derwin James and J.C Jackson.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos finally have a good quarterback in Russell Wilson that can produce offense ever since Peyton Manning retired.

Los Angeles Rams: Despite an ugly loss against the Bills in their season opener, the reigning Super Bowl champions are still a talented team that captures the eyes of many.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Tom Brady is still playing and he still has a championship level team to win it all this year. Also, we may never know if this is his last season.
