Coming off a bye week the Las Vegas Raiders were ready for their week six opponent: the Houston Texans. Both teams had hoped to be off to hotter starts this season as the Las Vegas Raiders entered the game with a record of (1-4) and the Houston Texans (1-3-1). Scouts were reporting that the Raiders went into this game poised for victory, and to begin a winning streak to propel the team into the playoff picture.

The Raiders must have heard the reports too and proved they were not kidding around. The Raiders won by a decisive final score of 38-20, but the game was not always the blow out it ended up as, with the score tied 10-10 going into the half.

The Raiders still hadn’t picked it up during the third quarter as they lost that quarter 10-7, and entered the fourth quarter down 20-17. Then Josh Jacobs put the team on his back by scoring two fourth quarter touchdowns to take the lead and extend it. The icing on the cake was Duron Harmon returning an interception 73 yards to the house, putting the Raiders up 38-20 and the game away.

The biggest performer from Sunday’s game was 24-year-old running back Jacobs. Jacobs had a career day going off for 143 yards rushing yards, 20 carries and three touchdowns. Jacobs entered the bye week as a top three rusher in the league and has continued to keep his foot on the gas and picked up from where he left off.

Derek Carr also played his role very well going 21-27 with 241 passing yards and a touchdown toss to Mack Hollins.
