Preview: Giants vs Chargers

It’s Week 14 and the Giants are that much closer to another disappointing season. Facing a playoff pushing Chargers team with a sidelined Daniel Jones and now a banged-up Mike Glennon, things might turn even worse. After a dreadful loss at Miami, with very little positives to take away, the Giants have fallen to 4-8 and currently hold the 7th pick in the 2022 draft. There is not much to this matchup that favors the Giants in any way. With the likelihood of Jake Fromm starting at quarterback, former 5th round pick chosen by the Buffalo Bills in 2020, an injury report continuing to grow, and an already dejected team traveling West, I do not see an impressive showing. One more thing, root for the Packers this week.

Things to Know:

·      Jake Fromm: Joined the Giants Dec 1. Only saw the practice squad in Buffalo. Had a poor combine back in 2020. Hopefully Mike Glennon stays on the field. Only positive, probably knows a lot of Georgia bulldog alums on the team.

·      Herbert: Has 27 touchdown passes so far. Jones has 10.

·      Receivers: Kenny Golladay will play, dealt with a rib injury all week. Kadarius Toney still out with an oblique injury. Sterling Shepard limited with a quad injury, will play. Man, these guys are fragile.

·      Saquon: Dealing with an ankle injury. Look for a big game against the 31st best run defense.

·      Scoring: Giants have 32 points in the last 3 games.

·      Chargers’ Weapons: Keenan Allen is still really good. Mike Williams can catch the deep ball. Ekeler will be very active in the air. Going to be a tough day for this defense. Luckily for the Giants offense, Derwin James is dealing with a hamstring injury and will not play.
