There’s nothing quite like Monday Night Football in front of a sold-out crowd at home, playing against one of your arch-rivals. The Dallas Cowboys brought the name NFC East Football on Monday night with one fierce game.

Dak Prescott ran toward the tunnel, raising his arms to the fans, and shedding a tear as he entered AT&T Stadium for his first home game of the season playing against their rivals the Philadelphia Eagles.

Dak Prescott shed a tear as he rode onto the field on a cart and passed upon the same spot where he had his gruesome ankle injury that ended his season.

Prescott threw for three touchdowns in his first home game of the season, completed 80.8 percent of his passes, scored an impressive passing rate of 143.3, and scored 238 passing yards. Trevon Diggs returned an interception 59 yards for a score and the Cowboys beat the Eagles 41-21 on Monday night.

Thought the first half of the play, Dallas had more first downs, 19 to be exact than the Eagles had run total offensive plays-18. The Philadelphia Eagles couldn’t get a grip on the game last night and left with an overwhelming loss. The Cowboys reached the end zone on three of four trips into the red zone in the first half of the game and outgained the Eagles 261 yards 121. That accomplishment gave the Cowboys a 20-7 lead.

The Cowboys also have a great one-two running back duo: Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard. Elliott ran for a season-high 95 yards and two touchdowns, and Pollard added 60 yards rushing on 11 carries as the Cowboys finished with 160 yards against the NFL’s No. 2 run defense. With their help, the Cowboys were able to put out 160 rushing yards overall in the game. Which led to a perfect complement to Prescott’s effort through the air.

Coming into the game there were some concerns since Dallas’ defensive line has had issues with injuries in the past. But despite the Eagles totaling 367 yards of offense, they were mostly empty yards as Dallas limited Philadelphia to only 12 first downs.

But the Cowboys didn’t waste any time last night getting points up on the board. They ended the half with a 20-7 lead and continued to score big entering the third quarter. Whatever hopes the Eagles had of striking back was quickly tossed out the window when cornerback Diggs stepped in front of Hurts pass for the interception. He then ran it back untouched 59 yards for his first career touchdown.

But as you’d expect, the Eagles weren’t going down without a fight. At least not yet. Halfway through the quarter the Eagles started their own 90-yard line and went the distance in eight plays. Hurts connected with Watkins for 41 yards and then found Ertz for 27. Continuing, Ertz was then wide open in the end zone for a 3-yard touchdown pass.

That momentum the Eagles had certainly didn’t last long, unfortunately. The Dallas Cowboys capped off a lengthy 12-play, 61-yard drive at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Prescott threw a dart to Wilson in the back of the end zone and scored yet another touchdown. Schulz would then record the first multi-touchdown game of his career with a beautiful catch and run, running in and out of his way for the 22 yards for the score. He became the first Cowboys tight end with at least two touchdowns since December of 2018 when teammate Blake Jarwin had three at the NY Giants game.

The Philadelphia Eagles added one last touchdown that turned out to be meaningless as it did not favor them trying to put more points on the scoreboard before the clock ran out. It was a 15-yard scoring catch by Greg Ward that was just too little too late.

Dallas went on improving to 2-1 on the season.
